Jahtiradio terms of use
Updated 1 October 2026. The Finnish version (käyttöehdot) is the primary text.
These terms apply to the Jahtiradio app and its server. The service is provided by Latentti Oy (business ID 3183704-9, info@latentti.fi). By using the app you accept these terms.
Jahtiradio is not an emergency service
In an emergency, always call 112. A Jahtiradio emergency alert reaches only the members of your own hunt. It does not reach the emergency response centre. The alert may not get through if the phone has no connection, the battery is empty or the app has been closed.
The service
Jahtiradio lets a hunting party talk on their phones like on a two-way radio. You join a hunt with a code. No account is needed.
A hunt lasts until the clock next reaches 04:00 Finnish time. The hunt then ends and its voice clips, transcripts and messages are taken out of use and deleted. We do not restore them.
The service works over mobile or wireless networks. Without coverage, speech is saved on the phone and sent later, so it may arrive late. We do not guarantee that the service is always available or that every message gets through.
Age limit
Users of Jahtiradio must be at least 13 years old.
Machine transcription can be wrong
Speech to everyone in the hunt is transcribed automatically. The text may contain wrong words, names or numbers, and parts of the speech may be missing. Check important things by listening to the clip or asking the speaker. Do not make safety decisions based on the transcript alone.
Fair use
Jahtiradio is meant for hunting parties and similar groups keeping in touch. Do not use the service:
- to harass, threaten or spread offensive content
- for illegal activity or content that infringes the rights of others
- for advertising, spam or automated traffic
- to overload the service or get around its limits
The service has technical limits. One transmission lasts at most one minute, a hunt can have at most 50 members, and transcription covers at most four hours of speech per hunt per day. The server also limits the number of requests per minute.
We may block use of the service or delete a hunt if these terms are broken or the service is misused.
Offensive content
If someone in the hunt behaves offensively, you can block them from the member list. A blocked member's talk and messages are not shown or played on your phone. From the same place you can report the member to us by email. We handle reports by the next working day at the latest and may end the hunt at once if needed.
Your content
You are responsible for what you say and write. Other members of the hunt hear and see it. They may also record it on their own devices, which the app cannot prevent.
Limitation of liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage caused by outages, delayed or undelivered messages, or incorrect transcripts. These terms do not limit your statutory consumer rights.
Personal data
See the privacy policy.
Changes and governing law
We may change these terms. Updated terms are published on this page. These terms are governed by Finnish law.
